After their dreadful loss to Colorado last weekend, Miami came into this game knowing they needed to focus in on two things: ball security and rebounding.

While the second half wasn't as great as the first, the Hurricanes were able to close out the La Salle Explorers for a 84-77 win.

The main man for Miami today was Wooga Poplar, who spent a lot of the day attacking the rim with high-flying finishes. Poplar finished with a career-high 25 points in 37 minutes of action. Poplar left to the locker room at the end of the first half with an apparent injury, but came back strong with 14 second half points.

Matthew Cleveland continues to show how valuable his impact is on the court, tallying 14 points and nine rebounds on the day. He also finished second on the team in plus/minus with a +11.

Khalil Brantley led the way for the Explorers, putting up an efficient 23 points. La Salle led for just 23 seconds this game after scoring the first points of the contest.

In terms of the rebounding aspect, Miami dominated La Salle with 39 rebounds compared to their 25. The Hurricanes also collected 13 offensive rebounds and kept the Explorers to just 7.

Other notable stat lines include AJ Casey's seven rebounds off the bench, Nijel Pack's seven assists and zero turnovers, and Norchad Omier's 23 points.

Miami will shift their focus to next Thursday where they'll face the Stonehill Skyhawks before facing North Florida to round up their out of conference schedule.
