The Miami Hurricanes are headed to the Final Four!

88-81, the Hurricanes made a miraculous comeback after being down for the vast majority of the game.

In fact, with 14.26 to go, Texas guard Sir’Jabari Rice drilled a three to place the Longhorns up 62-49. It looked bleak. Very bleak.

The Miami offense was also struggling with finding ways to get Nijel Pack and Isaiah Wong open looks from behind the arc. That stated, Miami kept driving the ball and finally got hot, Wong in particular.

The 8:33 mark saw Wong hit a tough jump shot. That got him rolling. He connected again at the 7:08 mark and it was Texas leading just 72-68.

Here come the Hurricanes!

Wong’s next big play was not a shot, but a pass to Norchad Omier for a layup and foul. Miami went up 73-72 with 5:26 to play.

Wong hit another shot to tie it up at 75 after a triple by Texas guard Tyree Hunter. Then, Jordan Miller was the man in the big-shot moments.

He knocked in 8 of 8 free throws during the final 3:57. That’s not all when it comes to not missing a shot.

To be clear, Miller was literally perfect for the game. He went 13 of 13 from the charity stripe, and 7 of 7 from the field. Miller finished with 27 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block.

Without question, Miller was the player of the game. Again, 20 of 20 overall. Just incredible.

Miller’s two made free throws placed the Canes up 79-77. He also hit his last two free throws with 24 seconds to play. That was pretty much the backbreaker for the Longhorns.

Miami’s incredible free throw shooting down the stretch, overall, finished off the Longhorns.

For the game, Miami’s starters scored 83 of the 88 points and every starter was in double digits.

As a team, Miami shot 59.2% from the floor. Wooga Poplar had some huge makes and was Miami’s second-leading scorer with 16 points.

For Texas, Marcus Carr led the Horns with 17 points.

Bottom line, this was an incredible moment for the Canes as they came back when it looked very unlikely. One of the greatest comebacks in UM history.

Miami will play Connecticut in the Final Four this next Saturday.
