Miami Basketball Commit Slots In At Fourth Overall In 2025 NBA Mock Draft

ESPN's Jonathan Givony Mocks Jalil Bethea 4th Overall To The Bulls For The 2025 NBA Draft
In this story:

Miami takes their six game losing streak to Chapel Hill this evening, but next season provides a lot of hope with a talented recruit coming to Coral Gables.

In a recent mock draft shared by ESPN's Jonathan Givony, Miami commit Jalil Bethea found himself mocked at fourth overall to the Chicago Bulls for the 2025 NBA Draft. Bethea ranks as sixth overall prospect by 247Sports for the 2024 recruiting class.

Ahead of Bethea is Duke commit Cooper Flagg, Rutgers commit Ace Bailey and NBA Academy prospect Khaman Maluach from South Africa.

Bethea, joining Miami later this Fall, is the highest rated prospect in Miami Hurricanes history taking that crown from Nets guard Lonnie Walker IV. He's the headliner for Miami's Top-15 ranked recruiting class.

At this point, it feels like Miami can hardly wait for the talented guard to join the team. Miami sits at 15-13 and is a long shot to make the NCAA Tournament, needing a win at the ACC Tournament next month. The Hurricanes have made consecutive Elite Eight appearances in the past two seasons and unlikely to do so this season.

The Future Of Miami Basketball: Where Does Jim Larrañaga Go From Here?

There's no telling what the roster will look like for Coach Jim Larrañaga and Miami for the 2024-25 season, but there's no doubt that Bethea will be a focal point of it. Following the end of the season, Miami will await decisions from key players such as Nijel Pack, Norchad Omier and Matthew Cleveland on if they'll return to Miami.
