It’s been an incredible journey for Miami Hurricane Isaiah Wong, and Miami fans should be ever grateful for his time in Coral Gables.

A part of the Miami 2019 recruiting class, Wong was a mainstay with the team from his freshman season forward. He averaged 21.2 minutes and 7.7 points per game during his freshman season, and he’s never looked back.

Wong helped the Hurricanes reach the Elite 8 for the first time during the 2021-22 season, and furthered that advancement with the Canes by helping the program make it to the 2023 Final Four. As far as he helped the Hurricanes go, it’s now also time for him to go.

This past season saw Wong average 16.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists. His clutch performances included scoring 36 points to help defeat Cornell in a wild 107-105 game, dropping 24 points on Virginia in a 66-64 win, and scoring 27 and 20 respectively against Indiana and Houston on Miami’s way to the Final Four.

Wong was named ACC Player of the year not only because he could score, but also because he was a playmaker.

Remember Miami clamping down and putting the press on versus Drake in the first round of the NCAA Tournament? Wong was a big part of that defensive effort that helped to turn the tide towards The U.

During the Texas game, Wong had those incredible non-scoring plays as well. They included multiple steals that helped the Canes eliminate a 13 point deficit, plus a pass to Norchad Omier for a layup that tied the score at 72 all with 5:26 to play, among others.

Congratulations to Wong for being a great competitor and forever a Miami Hurricane.
