Week 11 ACC Power Rankings: Red Hot Florida State Climbs Above Miami Ahead Of Matchup
While there hasn't been any change with the top two teams in North Carolina and Duke in this week's rankings, the rest of the list has seen some significant changes.
Despite being viewed as one of the top teams in the conference going into the season, Virginia falls out of this week's rankings as their offense just can't get going. Here are the Week 11 ACC Power Rankings:
#1: North Carolina Tar Heels (13-3)
Last Result: 103-67 Win vs Syracuse
The only team still undefeated in ACC play, this team continues to look like a Final Four-caliber team with contributions from multiple players. Their schedule is rather light for the rest of the month, but their February schedule will show their true colors if they can maintain this level.
#2: Duke Blue Devils (13-3)
Last Result: 84-79 Win vs Georgia Tech
With an All-American caliber big in Kyle Filipwoski and a handful of impact guards, Duke has finally found their groove after a rocky start. Tyrese Proctor continues to be the X-Factor for this team, as they have yet to lose when he scores in double figures (6-0).
#3: NC State Wolfpack (12-4)
Last Result: 89-83 Win at Louisville
With just one ACC loss against North Carolina, NC State manages to win games without being great at really any stat. Perhaps it's been a fluke, but they'll be tested in their next five games to see if they have real tournament potential.
#4: Wake Forest Demon Deacons (12-4)
Last Result: 66-47 Win vs Virginia
A loss to Florida State put an end to their nine-game winning streak, but the Demon Deacons bounced back by blowing out the Cavaliers. Regardless, they remain a Top 50 offense with three players scoring more than 16 points per game. They'll have a chance to climb back up these rankings with a game against the Wolfpack this week.
#5: Florida State Seminoles (10-6)
Last Result: 67-58 Win at Notre Dame
Currently on a four-game winning streak with a 4-1 ACC record, FSU is similar to NC State as they don't do anything particularly well. With eight guys scoring over six points per game, there's no telling who will take over for the Seminoles. They'll face Miami on Wednesday in a crucial ACC matchup.
#6: Miami Hurricanes (12-4)
Last Result: 75-71 Win at Virginia Tech
Miami suffered one of their worst losses in the Jim Larrañaga era losing to Louisville at home. They were able to bounce back with a big win on the road against Virginia Tech but were lucky that three-point marksman Hunter Cattoor was injured. Currently fighting for their place in the NCAA Tournament, a loss against Florida State could derail UM's season.
#7: Clemson Tigers (12-4)
Last Result: 89-78 Win vs Boston College
Boston College was missing their leading scorer and two other contributors, helping the Tigers get back on track with a much-needed win. They've fallen off tremendously since their loss against Miami and will need PJ Hall and Joseph Girard to will them back to the top of the conference.
#8: Virginia Tech Hokies (10-6)
Last Result: 75-71 Loss vs Miami
The Hokies lost a close game against Miami where Cattoor's absence might've been the difference. Nonetheless, Sean Pedulla has been the best player in the conference in 2024 (30.3 PPG this month). If Lynn Kidd and Cattoor can stay healthy and play alongside Pedulla, the Hokies could be a big win away from being a sneaky NCAA Tournament team.
