Former Miami Hurricane Set To Cross Arctic Ocean In 2025
He's dominated in the NFL as one of the best to every play his position, now he's onto a new chapter in his life.
Announced on Monday, former Miami Hurricane tight end Jimmy Graham is set to partake in a 15 day adventure across the Arctic Ocean next year. After catching four touchdowns last year in his return to New Orleans, Graham will embark on an expedition that seems unfathomable to many.
According to the details shared via social media the mission will consist of Graham and three other rowers, those being former Navy SEAL Andrew Tropp, former Team USA rowing member Hannah Huppi and another former Team USA rower in John Huppi. The crew will alternate in pairs to complete the row.
Graham is no stranger to embracing his adventurous side, as he has acquired a mix of licenses/certifications to fly airplanes and helicopters.
Graham's team will also be setting a Guinness World record upon their completion as the first mixed-gendered team to complete the Arctic Challenge. They'll also attempt to set the fastest time if they can beat the current record that was set in 2023.
With Graham set to hit free agency this offseason, his involvement in the Arctic Challenge might mean that his playing career could be coming to an end. If so, he'll finish his time in the NFL as one of the best to ever do it at the tight end position.
As it stands right now, Graham's career stats include 719 receptions, 8,545 receiving yards and 89 touchdowns. He sits at fourth all-time in touchdowns for a tight end, right behind Patriots' legend Rob Gronkowski.
