NIL discussion taking center stage with Congress and former Miami players Haley and Hanna Cavinder
In this story:

Whether or not college athletes should become employees is one of the biggest topics with Congress.ย

A panel including Nick Saban, Haley and Hanna Cavinder, Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Richard Blumenthal (D-Connecticut), and Jerry Moran (R-Kansas), with more members of Congress stopping by, were discussing the topic on Tuesday.ย

According to the New York Post, the objective of both sides of the aisle is to come together on antitrust laws and NIL regulations that give more concrete national laws instead of every state having something different.

That is a massive undertaking and one that Cruz now considers a "50-50" chance of happening by the next election.ย

As for the Cavinder twins, they are excellent choices to be on the panel due to how they found ways to profit from NIL and can share personal experiences. Overall, this is a topic that's likely to heat up before the end of the year.ย

Spring Break Workouts?

The Canes are putting in the work even when it is not mandated. Several players like wide receivers Ray Ray Joseph and Joshisa Trader, among several other UM players,ย continue to grind despite having the chance for rest and relaxation during this week's spring break.

Anyone can read the details here, and note when players go out of their way to improve. These Canes are bought into doing what it takes to win.

Locked On Canes

AllHurricanes writer and Locked On Canes podcaster Alex Donnoย had some interesting commentary on Miami football recruiting with his Thursday show. That includes a wide receiver reportedly leaning toward the Hurricanes.
