Hurricanes Sports Today
It's great to see a former Miami Hurricanes legend be incredibly humble about his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction.
Andre Johnson's football career was special at The U and during his 14 seasons playing in the NFL for the Houston Texans (2003-2014), Indianapolis Colts (2015), and Tennessee Titans (2016).
Here are Johnson's thoughts about learning of being selected into the Hall of Fame:
“It’s probably one of the best feelings that I’ve had in a very, very long time,” said Johnson. “Just getting that knock at the door was very emotional, and it was just kind of a sense of closure to my career. I always said that I never-ever thought of being a Hall of Famer, but to have that happen, it was a tremendous feeling.”
Congratulations once again to one of the best to ever wear a helmet for the Hurricanes and becoming a dominant NFL receiver before going into the HOF!
Locked On Canes
It's been a busy time for Miami football. The Hurricanes are building another tremendous recruiting class, now have a new running backs coach, and are seeking a defensive backs coach.
Locked On Canes host Alex Donno breaks down those topics and more in his latest show.
Hurricanes Baseball
It's opening day for Miami baseball as well. Newly hired head coach J.D. Orteaga and the Canes will be hosting a three-game series against the New Jersey Institute of Technology today, Saturday, and Sunday, and then host UCF next Wednesday.
Many UM home games are coming up on the schedule. The Canes do not travel away from Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field until March 12. That's when Miami plays at Florida Atlantic.
