Miami Assistant Coach May Take Offensive Coordinator Job Elsewhere

Cannot blame a coach for moving up the career ladder
In this story:

The Miami football program could lose one of its assistant coaches.

It's the nature of the beast with college football. When a coach could gain the opportunity to make a major career move, it's often difficult for that coach to turn down the chance, as well as the money that usually comes with it.

Long-time Ole Miss coach Derrick Nix recently went to Auburn to be the offensive coordinator and running backs coach. A similar move could be going against Miami.

According to David Lake of 247, Miami running backs coach Tim Harris, Jr. could be heading to coach for UCF for a second time. This opportunity is about becoming the offensive coordinator for the Knights. Leaving Miami and taking the UCF offensive coordinator job, Harris would be gaining a quality opportunity to advance his career.

He's been earning that shot, especially after how well UM's running backs performed this past season. Miami's running backs were good in pass protection, did a quality job catching passes out of the backfield, and rushed for over 2,000 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Harris is also a quality recruiter in addition to helping his players perform at a high level on the gridiron. If Harris does indeed head back to Orlando to join the Knights, he will be missed in Coral Gables. Harris is a really good coach and an even better guy.
