I sat down with Miami Hurricanes class of 2024 verbal commit Judd Anderson. The standout quarterback from Jones County HS in Gray, Georgia stands 6'7 and weighs in around 210.

The 3-star prospect committed to Miami on April 7th.

Judd and I discussed everything from his recruitment, his scheme fit at Miami, to his early connections with future teammates.

Why Miami?

"I already had it in the back of my head that this kind of feels like home for me. I talked to Cristobal, I talked to Dawson, and with the whole staff, there was just a connection there. When I got down there (for a visit) I fell in love with the place. That's how I want all these other recruits to feel."

Enrolling EARLY for spring 2024

"I plan on enrolling early, skipping (my high school basketball season in 2023-2024), getting into Miami, and trying to get as many reps in as I can before summer starts."

Why does Shannon Dawson's offense feel right?

"(Dawson) is an awesome guy, first of all. He's one of the best offensive coordinators in the country and there's no doubt about that. He coaches hard but he also teaches the quarterbacks. I sat in a meeting with him this spring and you see what he does with Emory (Williams), developing him and making sure he's on the right track. Also with Jacurri and Tyler. Tyler (Van Dyke) is gonna be amazing in that offense this year. (Dawson) is gonna build around the quarterback that he has and he is gonna let them make adjustments and have input. I really like that about him. He let's those guys make their own decisions. That's what it's all about."

On Mario Cristobal

"He's an awesome, awesome guy. You get around Coach Cristobal and you just feel the energy he brings to Miami. He was a player here, so he knows the ins and outs. He knows so many people here too, so you see so many (former players.) Overall, the staff is awesome, and I can't preach that enough. Coach Cristobal is definitely the main reason for that.

The advantages of being 6 foot 7

"I can see over the line. That's kind of the biggest (advantage.) It also just gives me an ability to stand in the pocket and take a hit. I'm not a skinny guy at all. I've got a big frame. It helps me out a lot, being the size I am. It's definitely a blessing and I'm grateful for it."

How his basketball background helps in football

"It definitely helps my footwork. I've always used basketball to stay in shape. It helps with conditioning and to keep slimmed down and keep my metabolism high."

Relationship with 4-star WR commit Chance Robinson

"We are getting close. Me and Chance have a pretty good relationship. It's definitely special, getting to talk to a big time receiver like that, and knowing he's coming to Miami and I get to throw to him. I feel special that I get the opportunity to do that and it's definitely a blessing that he decided to come to Miami."
