Where Miami Quarterback Cam Ward Stands Among Heisman Trophy Favorites In 2024

Do the oddsmakers give Miami's signal caller a legitimate chance to win college football's most prestigious award?

Will the Miami Hurricanes soon boast their first Heisman Trophy winner since 1992?

Only Gino Torretta ('92) and Vinny Testaverde ('86) have won the award at the University of Miami. The Hurricanes added former Washington State standout Cam Ward in the Transfer Portal and he has been named on the short list for the 2024 Heisman betting odds.

Brett McMurphy from Action Network shared the top 13 Heisman candidates according to Fanduel Sportsbook.

Ward is in a four way tie for tenth at 20-1 odds along with Arizona's Noah Fifita, Notre Dame's Riley Leonard, and Texas A&M's Conner Weigman

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck and Quinn Ewers of Texas sit atop the contenders at 7.5 to 1.

Ward had an excellent 2023 season with Washington State, throwing for 3,735 yards with 25 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He committed to Miami in mid-January after deciding to remove his name from the 2024 NFL Draft.

Ward will try to finish his collegiate career on a high note behind Miami's highly touted offensive line. Returning wide receiver Xavier Restrepo will likely be Ward's top weapon. Restrepo finished second in the ACC with 1,095 receiving yards last year.
