Miami Hurricanes Defensive Tackle Justin Scott Listed Among "Instant Impact Freshmen"

Will Scott leave an early mark in the Hurricanes in 2024?
In this story:

The Miami Hurricanes signed a top five recruiting class and Justin Scott is the highest ranked player in the group.

The 5-Star defensive tackle out of St. Ignatius in Chicago recorded 28 tackles as a senior with 7 tackles for loss and a pair of sacks and two pass breakups. He played two-ways, carrying 17 times as a running back for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Scott will enroll in Miami this summer after signing with the Hurricanes in December.

He's projected to make an early impact at the college level.

Charles Power and Cody Bellaire from On3 Sports have listed Scott as one of eight incoming true freshmen who will make an instant impact in 2024

"Justin Scott is easily one of the more gifted jumbo athletes in the 2024 recruiting cycle. The dancing bear from Chicago is unbelievably light on his feet and moves like a much smaller player," Bellaire wrote. "Even though Miami secured a transfer commitment from CJ Clark (NC State) out of the transfer portal, Mario Cristobal has shown no hesitation in playing talented freshmen. It looks like Scott will be next in line to make an early impact in Coral Gables."

At 6-4 and 310 lbs, Scott already has the frame and the strength to compete in the trenches at Miami. On3 noted his history as a multi-sport athlete. He's also played basketball, soccer and hockey.

The remaining players on the On3 instant impact report are Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola, Coloro OT Jordan Seaton, Florida DL LJ McCray, Michigan RB Jordan Marshall, Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith, Auburn WR Cam Coleman, and Alabama WR Ryan Williams
