Miami Hurricanes Projected To Have A Top QB/WR Duo Next Season
Miami will hope to revolutionize their passing attack with transfer quarterback Cam Ward under center next season.
Ward has been keeping busy at the Hurricanes' training facilities working out and building chemistry with his new wide receivers. Miami's top two receivers, Xavier Restrepo and Jacolby George, both return from last year. Restrepo ranked second in the ACC is both receiving yards (1,092) and receptions (85).
247Sports has projected the combo of Ward and Restrepo as the fourth best QB-WR duo heading into the 2024 football season.
Miami's duo sits behind Quinn Ewers and Isaiah Bond of Texas, Dillon Gabriel and Tez Johnson at Oregon, and Noah Fifita and Tetairoa McMillan of Arizona. The Hurricanes boast the only combo from the ACC and the state of Florida to crack the top ten.
With Tyler Van Dyke under center for most of last year, the Hurricanes had the 44th passing offense in America at 258 yards per game. Cam Ward's former team, Washington State, ranked 4th with 336.8 passing yards per contest. Ward threw for 3,735 yards, 25 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in 2023.
