While it was the consensus going into the game that the Hurricanes would walk away victorious, they did it in dominating fashion tonight winning 48-7 over the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats.

In just one half of work, Tyler Van Dyke put on an efficient display of 247 yards through the air and two touchdowns. Van Dyke's completion percentage climbs up to 76% on the season, as the Shannon Dawson offense has rejuvenated him back to 2021 form.

Xavier Restrepo helped play a large part in that effort, as his 120 receiving yards now puts him into a temporary third in the country in receiving yards before Week 3 is fully-underway. However, Restrepo mentioned "that isn't something he's paying attention to". His yards after the catch continue to be a big game changer, and that's helped this offense be where they are through three games.

Jacolby George was able to sneak in yet another touchdown catch, bringing his total to four on the season. George had just one career touchdown before the Texas A&M game, and is now playing a crucial role in this Miami offense.

Emory Williams started off the second half of the Hurricanes, and ended the night without a touchdown pass but showed promise with an efficient passing display. Coach Mario Cristobal commented an "overall solid display" from the young quarterback.

Most notably Jacurri Brown did not touch the field tonight, further confirming the redshirt season for the sophomore.

However the run game was the engine for the offense tonight, as Ajay AllenDon Chaney Jr. and Chris Johnson Jr. all got into the endzone tonight. Miami's offense finished with 240 rushing yards on the night with a dominate 6.7 YPC.

After Bethune-Cookman's quarterback went down in the first half, Miami's defense showed out with a lockdown performance on the night. The Wildcats were held to just 165 yards on the night and were only 6-13 on third downs.

For Miami's defense, Jake Lichtenstein and Francisco Mauigoa were the standouts on that end. Lichtenstein had a sack and a fumble recovery, while Mauigoa was tied for the team lead in tackles and forced the fumble.

Even without Nyjalik Kelly, Branson Deen and Akheem Mesidor playing for the Hurricanes tonight, the defensive line kept the pressure on the Wildcats. Miami finished the night with four sacks, with Rueben Bain, Jr. logging his first career sack on the night.

With a win dominate win tonight and 3-0 on the season, Miami will have to wait and see how the rest of the games unfold before they'll see if they will further climb the rankings for the Week 3 poll.

Looking ahead of the schedule, Miami will travel up to Philadelphia to face the Temple Owls next Saturday at 3:30 PM on ESPN2.
