Xavier Restrepo Is "Running It Back" With The Miami Hurricanes For The 2024 Season
Xavier Restrepo had a career year with the Miami Hurricanes in 2023. He set the program's single-season receptions record with 85 catches. He eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark, hauling in 1,092 receiving yards.
Restrepo will be running it back in 2024. He announced on social media on Friday morning that he will remain with the Hurricanes for his senior season.
Keeping Restrepo is a huge step in the right direction for Miami. The Hurricanes have already lost one starting wideout, with Colbie Young transferring to Georgia.
Restrepo had excellent chemistry on the field with former Miami starting QB Tyler Van Dyke. The pair are best friends and former roommates. When Van Dyke hit the transfer portal and ended up in Wisconsin, it led some to wonder if Restrepo would follow. He also had the option of exploring his stock in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Restrepo was one of the few bright spots in Miami's Pinstripe Bowl loss to Rutgers. He caught 11 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown.
Restrepo, Jacolby George, Isaiah Horton, Shemar Kirk, Nathaniel "Ray Ray" Joseph and Robby Washington highlight Miami's group of returning wideouts. The Hurricanes also have an excellent trio of true freshmen arriving in 2024 in Joshisa Trader, Chance Robinson and Ny Carr. With so much youth on the depth chart, I would suspect Miami tries to land at least one experienced addition through the transfer portal.
