Miami took two more big steps forward on Monday night when they added transfer center Zach Carpenter and flipped 4-Star running back Jordan Lyle from Ohio State.

On my Tuesday episode of the Locked On Canes Podcast, Bruce Warner and I discussed what else fans can expect between Tuesday afternoon and National Signing Day on Wednesday.

We still believe Miami is making positive strives towards flipping a few more players, like Florida State committed DT Armondo Blount, Florida committed LB Adarius Hayes, and Wisconsin committed DB Xavier Lucas.

We also discussed Miami's efforts to reel in the biggest fish of all: 5-Star WR Jeremiah Smith. He's the top overall prospect in the Class of 2024 and he's long been committed to Ohio State, but the Hurricanes continue to recruit him and so do the Florida State Seminoles. Do the Hurricanes have reasons to feel optimistic about Smith just 24 hours before his final decision?

Meanwhile, as Miami continues to recruit Washington State transfer quarterback Cam Ward, they do appear to have a backup plan. Reports have emerged on Tuesday morning that Miami, TCU and UCF have all reached out to Arkansas transfer quarterback KJ Jefferson. Jefferson brings up polarizing reactions from Hurricanes fans, but I explained on the podcast why I like him more than most.
