The Miami Hurricanes cannot afford to overlook the Virginia Cavaliers, who just pulled off a shocking road upset against North Carolina. The Cavaliers might be building momentum.

Thankfully, Miami comes off a solid team win against Clemson in double overtime. They have momentum of their own.

Which Hurricanes players raised their stock last week?

Stock UP

DL Rueben Bain: His 10 quarterback pressures against Clemson were more than any other player in America. He earned two sacks, a forced fumble, and two tackles for loss. The true freshman is turning heads.

DL Leonard Taylor: He had a personal season-high 56 snaps in the game. He really thrived playing the Nose in a three man front, and I think we will see more of that formation going forward. He was consistently disruptive.

OL Francis Mauigoa: This was his best performance of the season so far. He surrendered ZERO quarterback pressures.

QB Emory Williams: He was thrown into the fire for his first career start and handled it well. The true freshman showed poise, the ability to spread the football around, and he made clutch throws with the game on the line. Starter Tyler Van Dyke is expected to return this week, but it's nice to know that Emory is capable of filling in and winning when necessary.

WR Brashard Smith: He's a Swiss Army knife and dangerous no matter where you line him up. His 80 yard run was the longest play Clemson has given up all season.

WR Colbie Young & RB Ajay Allen: I group them together because they both came up clutch during Miami's comeback. Young took over on Miami's must-score drive in the fourth quarter. Allen provided a clutch TD run and ensuing 2-point conversion in double OT.

LB Corey Flagg: He's really hit another level all season. Flagg doesn't get enough appreciate, so I was very happy he was the one to make the game-sealing tackle!

LB Francisco Mauigoa: He and his younger brother both came to play on Saturday. Kiko had a sack and two tackles for loss. And yes, he SHOULD have been credited with a safety. Kiko leads Miami in tackles this year and holds the highest run-defense grade of any linebacker in the country.

Let's hope Miami can provide more fireworks this Saturday. Kickoff for Virginia at Miami is set for 3:30pm from Hard Rock Stadium.
