Miami Hurricanes Have Will Howard And Cam Ward Visiting This Week | Top Quarterback Targets
After a quiet first week in the transfer portal, the Miami Hurricanes are about to step up their chase in week two to find a new starting quarterback for the 2024 season.
Ross Dellenger from Yahoo! Sports reported that Kansas State transfer quarterback Will Howard visited Miami on Monday. The visit began around 3:00pm. On Tuesday, the Hurricanes are expected to host Washington State transfer Cameron Ward.
It's believed Ward is Miami's top target but Howard is not far behind.
In 2023, Howard completed 61.3 percent of his passes for 2,643 yards with 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He ran for 351 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Ward completed 66.6 percent of his throws this season for 3,735 yards with 25 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. He added 9 rushing touchdowns. Both Ward and Howard have dual threat capabilities and the ability to extend plays. Ward is especially sought after, with schools like Ohio State, Florida State and USC reportedly in hot pursuit along with Miami.
Both Ward and Howard are graduate transfers with one season of eligibility left.
CaneSport has reported that UCLA transfer Dante Moore is working on scheduling a Miami visit. Moore just finished his freshman season, so he has three years of eligibility left.
Will Miami have a new signal caller on scholarship by the end of the week?
