A Miami Returning Receiver Named 5th Best By Pro Football Focus
Retaining Xavier Restrepo was a huge win for the Hurricanes this offseason, and national publications are seeing it the same way.
According to a recent post by Pro Football Focus (PFF), Restrepo is regarded as the fifth best returning receiver for college football next season.
The only ACC representative on the list, Restrepo comes in behind Oregon's Tez Johnson, Ohio State's Emeka Ebguka, Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan and Missouri's Luther Burden III.
This past season Restrepo put up career-highs across the board, putting up 85 receptions, 1,092 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns in 12 games for the Hurricanes. He'll pair up again with wideout Jacolby George to create one of if not the best receiving duo in the conference.
Restrepo finds himself among some of college football's elites, as well as players that will likely be playing on Sundays in the future. If he is able to produce in 2024 like he did this past season, he will also find himself in the mix for the 2025 NFL Draft.
To make things better for Restrepo, he'll get a massive quarterback upgrade with the arrival of Washington State transfer Cam Ward. Ward threw for over 3,700 yards and added 33 touchdowns as the Cougars finished 5-7 in the final year of the Pac-12.
While the hype is definitely there, all that matters is the production on the field. Miami fans will get a glimpse at how much he's improved as spring practice is set to start March 4th.
