10 Recruiting Notes From IMG Academy Under Armour Camp
BRADENTON, Fla. - The Under Armour Camp series went to IMG Academy tonight.
The talent was outstanding as expected and the national recruiting analysts came by to check out the talent from all the major services like Rivals, 247, On3, and ESPN. Here are 10 recruiting notes from the event.
All prospects are class of 2025 unless otherwise noted.
1) Elite linebackers Gavin Nix and Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng could take multiple official visits together. The two they agreed were the most likely to happen for each of them would be Miami and Notre Dame.
2) Oregon was a team that was constantly mentioned by several IMG recruits, including prospects from 2025 and 2026.
3) Speaking of 2026, Keenyi Pepe is 6-foot-8 and 296 pounds and still looks lean. He's just beginning to get rolling with recruiting but plans to visit Miami this spring, among other programs.
4) Wide Receiver Raiden Vines-Bright plans to take official visits to Southern California, Notre Dame, Washington, and Arizona State. He is originally from Tempe, Ariz., so the Sun Devils could be a team to watch.
5) Miami, Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, and Alabama will be unofficial visits for interior offensive line recruit Kaden Strayhorn.
6) "I want to play where I get on the field," said defensive back Elijah Pratt. He's committed to SMU and just transferred from Mansfield (Texas) Timberview. That being the case, several schools are still recruiting Pratt.
7) Defensive back Major Preston has several unofficial visits lined up including Texas A&M, Texas, Florida, Colorado, and Oklahoma, among others.
8) Big-time defensive end London Merritt has a recruiting plan that includes visits to Ohio State, Alabama, Southern California, Texas A&M, Texas, and Florida. He also has some official visits. North Carolina (June 7), Ohio State (June 14), and also plans to take an official visit to Oregon but no date is set.
9) Donovan Johnson is an impressive running back. Georgia is probably the odds-on favorite to sign him, but Florida State, Tennessee, Ohio State, and several other programs are giving chase.
