With the college basketball season coming to an end with UConn winning its fifth national title and cementing themselves as one of the greats, the time comes for players to begin making decisions on their futures.

Whether it be the NBA Draft, staying or transferring, hundreds of player around the country will be evaluating their futures at their programs.

For Miami, they'll likely be big players in the transfer portal looking to restock on talent with numerous departures.

Follow along as All Hurricanes tracks the movement in the transfer portal for men's basketball.

APRIL 11

In less than 24 hours being in the transfer portal, Harlond Beverley has already made his decision on where he'll be concluding his basketball career.

According to Jon Rothstein, Beverley has committed to Wichita State.

The Shockers went 17-15 last season, finishing sixth in the American conference.

Beverley will now have a chance to compete for a starting role, as he served as Wong's backup this past season.

APRIL 10

With portal season in full effect, Miami has yet to seen any of its players definitively transfer out of the program or any new players transfer in.

Late this evening however, Rice guard Quincy Olivari confirmed on Instagram that Miami has made his top four list. Along with Miami, he's considering Xavier, Texas, and Auburn.

The junior guard led the Owls in scoring last season, scoring 18.7 points per night as well as bringing in 5.9 rebounds. Olivari has also been a threat from behind the arc, as he's a career 37.8% three point shooter.

If Olivari is to join, it would make sense it would signal the departure of Isaiah Wong to the pros given Olivari's skillset at guard. However, it could be possible he'd join on as a sixth man if he was looking to compete for a national title.

Earlier this afternoon, Miami wing Harlond Beverly entered the transfer portal, becoming the fourth Miami player to do so this offseason.

Beverly had his most efficient year-to-date this season for the Canes, as he was injured all of last season and was a starter in the 2020-21 season for the Canes.

He leaves Miami after averaging 5.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest in his four-year career.

With yet another scholarship spot opening up on Miami's roster, it's only a matter of time before new talent finds their way into Coral Gables.

APRIL 5

After two Miami freshmen entered the portal yesterday, another Cane has decided to throw his name in as well.

College Basketball insider Jon Rothstein announces that fourth-year junior forward Anthony Walker plans to enter the transfer portal.

Walker served as Miami's go-to reserve big man this season, playing 10.1 minutes per game averaging 2.8 points and 1.2 rebounds per contest. He started 19 of his 125 games in his four-year career at Miami.

With the departure of Walker, Jordan Miller heading to the NBA Draft, and the freshmen entering the portal yesterday, Miami will have a handful of scholarships to fill out.

With a starter and a key role player now gone, it will be interesting to watch how Coach Jim Larrañaga attacks the transfer portal in the coming days.

APRIL 4

VCU forward Jalen DeLoach listed his top six schools, with Miami making the shortlist. Along with the Canes, FSU, SDSU, Indiana, Penn State and a return to VCU make that list.

The sophomore averaged 9.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game for the Rams this past season, starting 32 of 34 games.

DeLoach is a traditional post-up big, who saw major improvements across the board for the Rams in an increased role this season.

DeLoach was a three-star prospect out of Georgia in the 2021 class, and chose VCU over Kansas State.

If he was to head to Coral Gables, he would either slot into the starting lineup to replace Jordan Miller's departure or serve as Miami's main backup big man.

In more news today, former four-star and Miami freshman center Favour Aire has put his name into the transfer portal.

The freshman logged just 40 minutes this entire season, with his biggest output coming in Miami's 80-53 win over Louisville in December.

With his departure, Miami's only remaining true center on the roster is Michael Nwoko, a 2023 commit joining the roster this offseason.

As the day comes to an end, another Miami freshman enters the portal with former three-star forward Danilo Jovanovich putting his name in the mix.

A 2022 recruit from Whitnall High School in Wisconsin, Jovanovich only saw two minutes total this season for the Hurricanes.

Jovanovich had offers from Illinois, Penn State, USC, Wake Forest and more coming out of high school.

Miami's first day of action concludes with two freshmen departing from the program.
