Scouting Miami Hurricanes Commit Ny Carr With Larry Blustein | Donno Video
Miami Hurricanes fans received some much-needed good news on Sunday when 4-Star receiver Ny Carr verbally committed. He chose Miami over FSU, Penn State, Auburn and Colorado after recently de-committing from Georgia.
Few people watch as much high school football in the Southeast than my longtime friend Larry Blustein from 560 WQAM in Miami.
I sat down with "Blu" to get his scouting report on the Colquitt County HS standout.
"Key addition, obviously." Larry said. "Marquee kid. Maybe he's not (top 2024 WR) Jeremiah (Smith) but he's pretty darn close. He plays his game the right way. He did some really good things in 7 on 7. He's a really good route runner. The University of Georgia loved him. Everybody really loved him. I had a chance to watch him earlier this year at a game against Tallahassee Lincoln. You have to account for him on every play."
I have compared Carr to former Canes great Santana Moss. Larry tells me there isn't really a direct comparison for Carr because of his versatility. However, his style reminds Larry a little bit of a certain Miami Dolphins standout.
"I think what differentiates Ny is that he can play a number of positions. He's not pigeonholed to play in the slot. He can go outside. He can mix it up with some of those corners. You take a look at Tyreek Hill with the Dolphins. He's that type of guy. He works hard to get into space."
Carr joins fellow 4-Star wideouts Joshisa Trader and Chance Robinson in the class of 2024.
