On Thursday evening I had the privilege of filling in for Larry Blustein on his South Florida High School Sports show on 560 WQAM in Miami.

4-star St. Thomas Aquinas receiver Chance Robinson joined me on the show. Chance, along with 5-star Chaminade WR Jeremiah Smith, were among the first phone calls made by new Miami Hurricanes WR coach Kevin Beard after he accepted the job.

"It was natural," said Robinson, on his first interaction with Beard. "It was one of the most honest conversations I've had with any college coach in the country. I just felt a different vibe from him. It was just a more genuine and long conversation than I usually have with coaches. That's just a great sign from a coach. Honestly, it just kind of blew my mind because I've really never felt that way (from) a conversation with a coach."

I asked Robinson if he will be taking any visits this month.

He told me he plans to visit Georgia around March 31st. He also said he wants to get down to Miami "as fast as possible," but implied he does not have a date for Miami set just yet.

When I asked him if he speaks frequently with Mario Cristobal, Robinson said "it's been a lot this week," but added that Mario has been in touch with him since before his junior season in 2022.

"He's a cool guy," Robinson said of Cristobal. "He's really genuine. When I came to the barbecue event, he was cooking with the cooks. He was acting like he was just one of the guys, never too big to do anything."
