Brian Smith and I sat down to navigate all the top storylines for the Miami Hurricanes this week!

Miami and Florida State are still battling to land transfer quarterback Cam Ward from Washington State. Ward's decision could come any time between Monday, December 18th and Christmas Day. His father has noted that entering the NFL Draft is still an option.

Miami has likely missed out on their second option, Kansas State transfer Will Howard, who's trending strongly to USC. FSU's second option, Oregon State transfer DJ Uiagaleilei, is still undecided.

I have heard the Hurricanes do have a backup plan in place if they miss out on Ward, but the identity of that quarterback or multiple quarterbacks is being kept very close to Mario Cristobal's vest.

We also discuss the latest trends for four players who visited Miami this past weekend despite being committed elsewhere.

5-Star defensive lineman Armondo Blount from Miami Central, a Florida State commit.

4-Star running back Jordan Lyle from St. Thomas Aquinas, an Ohio State commit.

4-Star linebacker Adarius Hayes from Largo, FL, a Florida commit.

And 3-Star American Heritage defensive back Xavier Lucas, committed to Wisconsin.

It's important to note that I do not expect any of those four above to announce their final decision until their respective signing ceremonies on Wednesday.

We also discussed feedback from 4-Star running back Kevin Riley's visit to Alabama. The Miami commit said he is now leaning toward the Crimson Tide, but will not make up his mind until signing day on Wednesday.
