While coaching matters, the team with more talent usually wins more games.

For Miami, it's certainly putting in the work along the recruiting trail. The 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes are both excellent. Mario Cristobal and his staff are working hard to bring the best recruits to Coral Gables. An interesting tweet by 247's Steve Wiltfong helps to showcase Miami's recruiting excellence even more.

The link is to the ACC's 2024 recruiting rankings. Here are some fun facts:

  • From the 5-stars signed by ACC schools, the Canes gain three of the five.
  • The Hurricanes hold the #1 class in the ACC.
  • 14 of Miami’s 27 signees come from talent-rich Florida.
  • Nine of UM’s 27 signees also come from South Florida prep programs.
  • Seven of the Hurricanes’ recruits are going to play defensive end or defensive tackle. Plus, Booker Pickett, Jr. will be a linebacker who also moves to the edge at times. It’s the nation’s best defensive line haul.
  • Not to be outdone, Miami's 2024 wide receiver class is special. It has some of the nation's most explosive pass catchers in Ny Carr, Joshisa Trader, and Chance Robinson.

this information is a reminder that The U is building a roster that's going to provide a talent advantage over the majority of its competition. The Canes are earning it along the recruiting trail.
