The Miami Hurricanes have been hosting several talented high school players throughout the spring practices to date, and many more will be coming to tonight's spring game.

Those unofficial visits helped to secure the commitment of quarterback Judd Anderson and has the Canes in a better position with several other prospects than it did prior to spring ball starting.

Several talented recruits from Broward County alone have made the trek to see Miami practices to date: running back Chris Wheatley-Huntley (South Broward), wide receivers Joshisa Trader (Chaminade-Madonna), Jeremiah Smith (Chaminade-Madonna) and Chance Robinson (St. Thomas Aquinas), and tight end Colton Heinrich (Cardinal Gibbons).

Of course numerous players from Dade County have been down as well, including prospects from the loaded Central and Norland rosters. One of the talented Norland defensive lineman was recently in Coral Gables, too.

A couple of general recruiting notes before going into a few confirmed spring game visitors.

  • Miami has truly targeted spring game visitors from South Florida, but also went after elite prospects from programs as far away as Seattle during this week.
  • From Thursday and Friday alone, there could be multiple visitors that have already pledged to other college football programs. Miami has continued to go after them and have not backed off.
  • There will be a huge emphasis with defensive line recruiting. That’s been especially needed with only one defensive tackle prospect – Joshua Horton from Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes – being signed from the 2023 recruiting class.
  • Miami has a shot with Tampa (Fla.) Catholic offensive lineman Eddie Pierre-Louis. He was tremendous at the Battle in the Trenches event this past April 8. Long way to go with the 315-pound offensive lineman’s recruitment.

As for visitors that will be coming to the contest, let’s start with two top-notch 2024 defensive lineman.

T.A. Cunningham from Los Alamitos (Calif.) High School will be back in town. He already took an earlier unofficial visit to The U and spoke with All Hurricanes about his trip.

Top-notch defensive tackle Justin Scott from Chicago (Ill.) St. Ignatius will be on campus. He’s one of the nation’s top overall players regardless of position. Georgia, Notre Dame, and Ohio State would be three other programs Miami will be competing with for Scott’s signature.

Cornerback Ricky Knight III will be attending Miami’s spring game. He’s one of Florida’s best defenders. His recruitment could end up being a Miami versus Florida State battle. Knight will trek to Tallahassee to see the Noles spring game as well.

Wide receiver Chance Robinson will once again be on campus for the game. There’s significant buzz that St. Thomas Aquinas star has become a Miami lean.

WR/DB Mekhai White announced via Twitter that he will be at Miaim's spring game. He has offers from across the SEC, Big 10 and ACC in addition to the Hurricanes. White comes from King George (Va.) High School.

Note: This page will be updated periodically as more recruiting information becomes available.

Update #2 - From a spring game road trip point of view, Gus Ritchey has done quite well. Good friend Ryan Wright wrote a story about him after he visited Miami for two days this week. Ritchey is a big-time tight end from the class of 2025 and his recruitment will be intense.

Update #1 - Still have not heard that he's landed or anything, but this young man is yet another big-time defensive tackle recruit that Miami would love to land.

Jericho Johnson has been ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 105 player in the country, as well as the 14th best defensive lineman. The 6-foot-4 and 300-pound defender comes from Fairfield (Calif.) Armijo.
