Sunshine State Offensive Lineman Has Miami Near The Top Of His Recruitment

Three-star offensive lineman lists Miami as one of his three favorites

The University of Miami coaching staff is recruiting at a high level out-of-state and in-state. 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive lineman Jaden Wilkerson hails from Edgewater (Fla.) High School. He spoke with AllHurricanes on the latest in his recruitment.

"Miami is near the top of my recruitment along with Syracuse and Central Florida," said Wilkerson.

The mammoth offensive lineman went more in-depth about why those three schools stand out.

Miami: "Just the fact it is close to home really makes it stand out for me."

UCF: "UCF is literally 15 minutes from where I live. It wouldn't be too bad playing at home."
Syracuse: "They have been real good with talking to me and expressing that they want me. All the coaches are real cool and personable."

With those three schools standing out Edgewater standout already has set unofficial visits to those schools and a few more schools.

"I'm visiting South Florida March 23rd, Miami March 30th, Florida State April 6th, Syracuse April 12th, and Maryland visit is still being worked as no date has been set."

Each visit is unofficial for spring practice, but has Wilkerson planned any official visits yet?

"No sir not yet," said Wilkerson.

He did admit that UCF, Miami and Syracuse will most likely receive official visits. The 6-foot-6 and 330-pound offensive lineman also mentioned this about his college decision timeline.

"Haven't really thought that far ahead. (I'm) focused on getting through spring ball."

Miami is in a prime position with Wilkerson's recruitment. The next step will be getting Wilkerson to take another unofficial visit to see the campus and offensive line coach Alex Mirabal. Stay tuned to AllHurricanes to get your latest Miami Hurricanes news as its breaking.
