Spread & Over/Under Predictions For Michigan vs. Toledo

Michigan is about to get it going in the NIT against Toledo.

With the regular season and Big Ten Tournament in the books, and Michigan on the outside looking in when it comes to the NCAA Tournament, it's time for Juwan Howard to get his guys ready for Toledo in the NIT. That's not exactly how Howard and Co. wanted the season to play out, but here we are.

All season long Michigan went back and forth between playing pretty solid basketball and basketball that's just not quite good enough to beat good teams, especially recently, late in games. Michigan finished the season with two overtime losses and the first round exit against Rutgers in the conference tournament. Tonight, they'll get a chance to rebound against a very good MAC school in Toledo.

Spread: Michigan -6.5

This number is really interesting and makes picking pretty tough. Toledo is a good basketball team. They finished the year 27-7 and won 17 games in a row right up until their most recent loss in the conference tournament championship game. They have the MAC player of the year in RayJ Dennis and they can really score and shoot the basketball. That has most believing that the game will be close, even though Michigan is expected to win. Hunter Dickinson is going to be a lot for the Rockets to handle, but Toledo is going to be able to score points. Because of that, expect the Wolverines to win, but expect it to be close.

The Pick: Toledo +6.5

Over/Under: 162.5

This over/under is extremely high even when Toledo scores 86 points per contest. Michigan scores significantly less at 73 points per game, but this number is just too high. Michigan's size and length is going to be tough for Toledo to deal with, and the Wolverines have been struggling a bit on offense as of late. The game also figures to be pretty close.

The Pick: Under
