Once news broke that Eli Brooks would be out of Michigan's lineup against the Badgers due to a broken nose, it seemed like David DeJulius would be the obvious replacement, but Juwan Howard opted to start Brandon Johns Jr. instead.
After U-M's seven-point loss against the Badgers, Howard was asked about that decision and he did his best to justify his choice.
