With Eli Brooks out, David DeJulius seemed like the most obvious replacement, but Juwan Howard went with Brandon Johns Jr. instead.

Once news broke that Eli Brooks would be out of Michigan's lineup against the Badgers due to a broken nose, it seemed like David DeJulius would be the obvious replacement, but Juwan Howard opted to start Brandon Johns Jr. instead. 

After U-M's seven-point loss against the Badgers, Howard was asked about that decision and he did his best to justify his choice.
