Brian Kelly's tweet backfires after losing Bryce Underwood to Michigan

It's safe to say that the folks down in Louisiana aren't thrilled with Brian Kelly these days. Not only have the LSU Tigers three of the last four games, but Kelly also lost out on the top recruit in the nation (QB Bryce Underwood) to the Michigan Wolverines.

But in spite of missing out on a guy who looks like a generational talent, Kelly still remains optimistic on the recruiting trail. In fact, he let that optimism be known on his Twitter/X account on Monday. The problem is that the way he worded the tweet seemed to open the door to an obvious response from angry fans.

"The Path to the Boot," wrote Kelly. Obviously his intention was to reinforce the pathway for recruits to the state of Louisiana (which is shaped like a boot), almost as a rallying cry. But many fans took that rallying cry and twisted it to "getting the boot", otherwise known as getting fired.
