Psychic Vibes: Five Specific Predictions For Michigan vs. UNLV

Michigan is expected to win big over the Rebels but it could play out in a lot of different ways.

After watching ECU keep Michigan's rushing attack in check last week while JJ McCarthy went off for 280 yards and three touchdowns, people are wondering how Michigan's offense will look against UNLV. Because of that, it makes predicting specific outcomes pretty tricky.

1. Donovan Edwards and Blake Corum both score a rushing touchdown

Last week, rushing yards and scores were hard to come by. This week, expect Michigan to impose its will against a less, physically-ready UNLV squad. Edwards and Corum should both get plenty of opportunities, which usually results in touchdown runs, either long or short. Last week, they both should've scored, but ECU bowed up against Edwards near the goal line and kept him out. That won't happen this week.

2. Roman Wilson will score again

As of right now, the new No. 1 looks unguardable. He caught three touchdown passes last week and should continue the streak this week. I'm not sure if he'll find the end zone multiple times in week two, but he'll find it once. He and McCarthy are locked in.

3. Will Johnson will intercept a pass

After sitting out last week, I think Johnson will return to the lineup and make his presence felt. Cornerbacks coach Steve Clinkscale talked about UNLV's wide receivers and quarterback glowingly, so I expect him to put his best weapon in a position to succeed this week. Johnson is elite and he'll show that today.

4. James Turner will be perfect

After a week that included a missed extra point and 52-yard field goal, Turner will return to the field on a mission. If he's asked to make another long one, he will. If he needs to knock in an intermediate kick from a hash, he will. And finally, if he kicks a lot of extra points, which he's expected to do, he'll do so perfectly. The Michigan native is going to find some calm and revert to his accurate, veteran ways.

5. Jack Tuttle will break off a 15+ yard run

During the spring game, Indiana transfer quarterback Jack Tuttle showed a propensity and an ability to run the ball, either on designed calls or when scrambling. During late game action we're expected to see Tuttle and I think he'll want to showcase what he brings to the table, which is more athleticism than most realize. Because of that and the flow of the game, I think he'll bust one off for at least 15 yards.
