Jim Harbaugh Meeting With Los Angeles Chargers
Death, taxes and Jim Harbaugh looking to return to the NFL. Every year around this time, Michigan fans are on pins and needles as their beloved coach takes interviews with NFL teams. This year is no different as Harbaugh is meeting with the Los Angeles Chargers today per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Once the Chargers parted ways with Brandon Staley, it immediately became one of the best jobs available, mainly because of young, star quarterback Justin Herbert. Many feel like Harbaugh could thrive right out of the gate with a QB like Herbet and a talent-laden defense like the Chargers have.
Because Harbaugh is such a football lifer, he has connections all over the country at both the college and pro level. Harbaugh's prior relationship with the Chargers and the Spanos family that owns the team is significant, as he played for the then San Diego Chargers in 1999 and 2000 before retiring.
It's going to be very interesting to see if a deal materializes from the Chargers. When the job was last open in 2021, there was some buzz that Harbaugh might be in the mix, but ultimately the job went to Brandon Staley. Now, the job is open again, Harbaugh is actually in town interviewing and may be in line for an offer now that he's accomplished so much in Ann Arbor.
