Junior Colson Makes Decision About Future

Sometimes a loaded college roster can be a blessing and a curse as good players help you win big but also don't usually stick around long.

What a three-year run for members of Michigan's 2021 recruiting class. Three wins and an undefeated record over Ohio State, three Big Ten titles, three trips to the College Football Playoff and national title. Wow.

That's why guys like Junior Colson feel like they've accomplished everything they came to Michigan to accomplish. The 6-3, 247-pound linebacker announced today that he's off to the NFL.

Colson has been extremely productive during his time in Ann Arbor. He played in all 14 games as a true freshman and has been a mainstay on U-M's defense over the last two seasons. This year he finished with a team-leading 95 tackles, 30 more than the next-closest Wolverine. He also won the Lott Award for contributions on and off the field.

As a potential pro, he is rated as the No. 3 linebacker by ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. and the No. 2 linebacker by ESPN's Field Yates. Colson projects as a top-50 pick, according to NFL scouts.
