Former Michigan Running Back Passed Away
Former Michigan running back Mister Simpson passed away yesterday. He was just 36 years old.
The former Wolverine became somewhat of a legend in high school playing for Cincinnati Colerain and was a part of what some call the best high school football team in the history of Ohio football.
Simpson helped turn Colerain into a national powerhouse in the early-2000s. During the 2003 season, Simpson rushed for 1,310 yards 24 touchdowns en route to a 15-0 season and a state championship. The next year, he rushed for another 1,658 yards and 23 touchdowns.
Simpson's career at Michigan was short lived, but once a Wolverine, always a Wolverine. In 2006, Simpson appeared in four games, rushing for 11 yards on two carries and recording two tackles on defense. He later transferred back closer to home at the University of Cincinnati.
