COLUMN: Michigan Football Players Of The Game In Win Vs. UNLV

Michigan dominated in all three phases of the game on Saturday against the Rebels. Here are the six players of the game.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan is now 2-0 after a dominating win on Saturday against UNLV. The final score was 35-7, and the Wolverines may have only scored seven points, but if you watched the game you know the maize and blue looked solid. The backups struggled at times, but the starters for Michigan did a good job.

I'm going to pick my Michigan players of the game from Saturday -- three offensive and three defensive players.

Offense:

QB J.J, McCarthy: McCarthy was sensational for the second straight week. He finished the game going 22-for-25 for 285 yards and two touchdowns. The junior also used his feet and ran it three times for 38 yards.

At one point in time on Saturday, McCarthy was 13-for-13 throwing the football. One of the most significant differences from last year to this year is that McCarthy keeps his head up and looks for his playmakers when he's under pressure. At times last year, he would look for a running lane, but now he fully trusts his arm and receivers.

RB Blake Corum: Corum thinks he left some yards on the table and wants to get back to 2022 Corum, but at the end of the day, the senior did a nice job on the ground. He ran the ball 15 times for 80 yards and three scores.

Corum looked more explosive on Saturday than he did in Week 1, in my opinion. When he had some open field, he was able to pump up the gas and make some big plays. It's starting to look like Corum is knocking off the rust from the injury and is ready to go.

WR: Roman Wilson: Wilson led the team for the second week in a row and continues to have chemistry with McCarthy. Wilson caught for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He now has five on the season and is looking the part as the No. 1 receiver.

Defense:

DT Kenneth Grant: Grant was magnificent on Saturday. The sophomore was all over the field and was wreaking havoc against UNLV. He four tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2.5 tackles for loss, and even had a pass breakup. The interior D-line has been good over the past two weeks, but Grant is noticeably taking his game to a new level.

Edge Jaylen Harrell: Michigan sacked the QB five times on Saturday and Harrell was a key piece to the success. Everybody gets to eat in this Michigan defense, however, Harrell stood out in the Edge room. He finished the game with five tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 1.5 tackles for loss.

DT Mason Graham: Noticing a trend? Another defensive lineman, but that's because they were so good on Saturday. Graham was just as good as Grant was and it's scary to think both players are only sophomores. Graham finished Saturday with five tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, .5 sacks, and one forced fumble. Between Grant, Graham, and Kris Jenkins -- the Rebels weren't running the ball up the middle.
