J.J. McCarthy Still Moving Up In Updated CBS Sports 2024 Mock Draft, One Other Michigan Player In First Round

J.J. McCarthy is looking more and more like a top-10 draft pick come April.

CBS Sports updated their 2024 NFL mock draft on Sunday and two Wolverines were found in the first round of the mock draft.

Last week, J.J. McCarthy was slated as the No. 9 pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But after throwing for 214 yards and a score against Rutgers on Saturday, McCarthy is climbing even higher.

Josh Edwards, with CBS Sports, has McCarthy going No. 7 to the Las Vegas Raiders. McCarthy is the third quarterback taken in the draft behind Caleb Williams and Drake Maye.

The jury is still out on J.J. McCarthy. The Bowling Green game was much worse than the prior two. It is known that Las Vegas is going to need a quarterback of the future.

McCarthy, a junior, has thrown for 915 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions through the first four weeks. J.J. is also the most accurate thrower in college right now. He leads the country completing 79.8% of his passes.

The other Wolverine to get selected in the first round of this mock draft is guard Zak Zinter.

The Cincinnati Bengals grabbed Zinter with the 25th pick in the draft.

The Cincinnati offensive line has improved but there are still questions about the interior. Zak Zinter represents an upgrade for that unit.
