Another Michigan Football RB Enters Transfer Portal
Unlike many schools, Michigan hasn't encountered rapid entries into the transfer portal. Thus far, the Wolverines have kept their team intact heading into the College Football Playoff.
So far, Michigan has just one scholarship player in the transfer portal which is running back CJ Stokes. Walk-on Sam Staruch has also entered the portal.
But the Wolverines now have a second running back to enter the transfer portal.
Walk-on running back Leon Franklin announced he would be entering the transfer portal, but would be staying with Michigan during the College Football Playoff.
Franklin has been with the Wolverines since 2021 and has played in 29 games at Michigan. In 2021, he had eight carries for 33 yards. In 2022, he carried the ball four times for nine yards. And in 2023, Franklin had 11 carries for 33 yards and a score. He also had a receiving score in 2022.
The Wolverines are loaded at running back and Michigan is bringing in two more running backs in the 2024 cycle. It's likely Franklin is looking to go somewhere where he can earn more playing time.
Franklin has two years of eligibility remaining.
