Michigan Football: Special Events Planned For 2023 Season

There's nothing quite like a fall Saturday inside of the Big House, and the 2023 season will include some special events for fans in attendance.

There's nothing quite like a fall Saturday inside of the Big House, and the 2023 season will include some special events for fans who plan to be in attendance. From Maize-outs to incredible fly overs, fans who plan on taking in a Michigan home game this season have plenty to look forward to. 

Michigan Stadium

Here's a detailed list of what to expect:

Sept. 2 vs. East Carolina 

  • Maize Out - All fans are encouraged to unify Michigan stadium by wearing Maize clothing.
  • Band Halftime Show - Let's Groove
  • Giveaway - Maize Poms (While Supplies Last)
  • Football Ticket Redemption - Show your ticket from Michigan vs. ECU Football to receive a free ticket* to Women’s Soccer vs. Cincinnati on Sunday, September 3 at 1 PM - U-M Soccer Stadium.
  • On Field DJ - DJ Truth

Sept. 9 vs. UNLV

  • Military Appreciation Game - The University of Michigan will host the annual Military Appreciation Game to honor, thank and recognize all military and veterans of our Armed Forces. Two large American Field Flags will be held by military veterans and service members from the University of Michigan community during the National Anthem.
  • Band Halftime Show - Heartthrobs
  • Flyover - 3 Black Hawk Helicopters from the Michigan Army National Guard.
  • Pregame Parachute Jump - The Chuters, a Veteran owned and operated parachute team will jump into the stadium prior to the game.
  • Military Vehicle Displays - The Michigan National Guard will have military vehicles and equipment displayed around the concourse of the stadium.
  • Veteran Recognition - American Flags will be flown on the 16 flag poles around Michigan Stadium in honor of individuals that have served or are serving in our armed forces. Fans can also share photos of those in our armed forces that they would like recognized during the game using #MGoTroops.
  • Championship Recognitions - Rowing (Big Ten), Women’s Track & Field (Big Ten), Savannah Southerland (NCAA 400m Hurdles).
  • Football Ticket Redemptions - Show your ticket from Michigan vs. UNLV Football to receive a free ticket* to Volleyball vs. Duke on Saturday, September 9 at 7 PM (Cliff Keen Arena) and Women’s Soccer vs. Western Michigan on Sunday, September 10 at 1 PM (U-M Soccer Stadium).

Sept. 16 vs. Bowling Green

  • Championship Recognitions - Men’s Gymnastics (Big Ten), Ice Hockey (Big Ten), Women’s Tennis (Big Ten), Fred Richard (NCAA Men’s Gymnastics All Around).
  • Football Ticket Redemption - Show your ticket from Michigan vs. BGSU Football to receive a free ticket* to Volleyball vs. Bowling Green on Sunday, September 17 at 2 PM (Cliff Keen Arena).
  • On Field DJ - DJ Array

Sept. 23 vs. Rutgers

  • Alumni Band - Special Pregame and Halftime performances featuring the Michigan Alumni Band.
  • Weekend of Champions - All of the Michigan championship teams and individuals who are celebrating their 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th and 60th championship reunion will be recognized on the field.
  • Championship Recognition - Women’s Gymnastics (Big Ten), Field Hockey (Big Ten), Mason Parris (NCAA HWT Champion).
  • Flyover - US Coast Guard Flyover featuring MH-65 Dolphin.
  • On Field DJ - DJ Array

Oct. 14 vs. Indiana

  • Championship Recognition - Men’s Lacrosse (Big Ten)
  • On Field DJ - DJ Truth

Nov. 4 vs. Purdue

  • 2023 Hall of Honor Induction - April Fronzoni Bertin (field hockey), Ryan Bertin (wrestling), Tiffany Ofili Porter (track & field), Justin Toman (gymnastics), Peter Vanderkaay (swimming & diving) and Ron Warhurst (cross country and track & field head coach) will be honored as they are inducted into the U-M Hall of Honor.
  • On Field DJ – DJ Array

Nov. 25 vs. Ohio State

  • Giveaway - Maize Poms (While Supplies Last)
  • Michigan Football Alumni Recognition - Prior to kickoff, over 150 Michigan Football alumni players will line the field as Michigan takes the field.
  • Senior Day - The Michigan Football seniors will be recognized during pregame.
  • 2003 Team Recognition - The 2003 Michigan Football Big Ten Championship team will be recognized for their 20th anniversary.
  • Flyover - Two US Navy P-8 Poseidon from VP-62 based at Naval Air Station Jacksonville.
