Michigan Football To Receive $14 Million Locker Room Renovation

The Michigan Football facilities will continue to receive massive upgrades in the near future, including a much-needed facelift to the current locker room.

Many of the Michigan Football facilities have received significant upgrades in recent years, most notably this year with Michigan Stadium receiving new videoboards, sound system, and lighting. Those renovations will continue to take place shortly after the conclusion of the 2023 season, according to Brian Kegler, Executive Associate Director of Development at U-M.

Appearing on a recent episode of In The Trenches, Kegler, discussed significant upgrades that are coming to Michigan Football facilities in the near future.

"Moving forward, in terms of facility work, we will be doing a renovation of the football locker room", Kegler said. "Probably after the season we'll get moving on that - that's a $14 million project. "

Not only will the football locker room be getting a much needed facelift, Kegler said there will also be renovations to the Men's and Women's basketball facilities as well.

"In addition, the Men's and Women's and basketball locker rooms, and that renovation will start after the season for those respective sports. And each one has not had any real attention to it in at least a decade. As you know, that's something that you continue to have to pay attention to, and refurbish, and keep it up to the caliber you would expect to see at Michigan."

Although the current Michigan Football facilities are rich with history and tradition, today's world of recruiting requires all major programs to keep up with the newest technology and trends. Most recently closer to home, the Michigan State football program unveiled their new locker room as part of a $67.5 million project for the Tom Izzo Football Building - and it certainly made waves across social media.
