The Wolverines made a nice addition to their 2025 recruiting class on Tuesday, as four-star quarterback Carter Smith announced his commitment to Michigan.

According to 247Sports, Smith is ranked as the No. 14 quarterback prospect in the 2025 class. The 6-3, 180 pound prospect out of Bishop Verot (FL) chose the Wolverines over Florida State, Penn State, and UCF.

“The coaching staff and all the people in the football building,” Smith said. “Everyone was very welcoming to my family and I, they treated us like we were family. The academics and just being able to be a part of such a historic program was also a big part.”

Smith becomes the third commitment in Michigan's 2025 class, joining four-star cornerback Chris Ewald (Hollywood, FL) and three star defensive lineman Bobby Kanka (Howell, MI). The class currently ranks No. 19 nationally, according to 247Sports.
