Redshirt freshman linebacker Cameron McGrone didn't play hardly at all last year and didn't see the field much to start this year. In fact, he didn't record a stat until the Wisconsin game but that was the beginning of his coming out party.

McGrone notched six stops against the Badgers and has added 18 more including 3.5 for loss and 2.5 sacks. The speedy backer is quickly becoming a shining star and Anthony Campanile is not surprised based on what he saw out of him back in the spring. Michigan's outside linebackers coach spoke about McGrone's growth among other things during his time with the media on Wednesday.

Brown's Breakdown

I saw McGrone play live a couple of times in high school and I always thought he'd be lethal in Don Brown's system. He fits well in U-M's scheme because of his speed, aggressive approach and knack for blitzing. He has made a few mistakes because of that aggression but for the most part, he's been very good and he's only getting better.

Other people who watched McGrone develop from his days at Indianapolis Lawrence Central through last week have described him as a defensive playmaker. He's just someone who jumps off the screen when you watch because of his combination of size, athleticism and instincts. He might not be Devin Bush yet, but those comparisons are starting to pop up.

How good can McGrone be? Will he be as good or better than Devin Bush? Comment below!!!
