Michigan Football: Bo Schembechler's Son Joins Harbaugh's Staff

Shemy Schembechler, son of former University of Michigan head coach Bo Schembechler, is Michigan's new assistant director of football recruiting.

A familiar name is returning to the Michigan Football program. On Wednesday, it was announced that Michigan had hired Shemy Schembechler, son of former U-M head coach Bo Schembechler, as it's new assistant director of football recruiting.

Prior to his newest opportunity with Michigan, Schembechler had spent several years as an NFL scout, working with the Washington Commanders, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears  and Las Vegas Raiders.

Obviously his return to Michigan is a return to familiar territory. His father, Bo, spent 21 seasons as Michigan Football's head coach from 1969-89, along with three years as Michigan's Athletic Director from 1988-90. Shemy attended the University of Michigan from 1993-95, and also served as an intern with the recruiting department.
