Michigan Football: Roman Wilson Putting Himself In Elite Company

Michigan's Roman Wilson hauled in his ninth touchdown reception on Saturday, becoming the first Wolverine with nine or more touchdown receptions through seven games since 2006.

It was another dominant performance for the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday against the Indiana Hoosiers. After trailing 7-0 after the first quarter, the Wolverines went on a 52-0 run for the final three quarters.

While Michigan's dominance has become a common theme from week to week, so has the chemistry between quarterback JJ McCarthy and wide receiver Roman Wilson. On Saturday, the dynamic duo connected for Wilson's ninth touchdown reception of the season. In doing so, Wilson became the first Michigan wideout to haul in nine (or more) touchdown receptions through the first seven weeks since Mario Manningham in 2006.

Wilson currently leads all Michigan receivers in receptions (25), yards (357), and touchdowns (9). His nine touchdown receptions are also good for No. 1 in the Big Ten conference, nearly double that of Marvin Harrison Jr. who currently ranks No. 2 with five on the season.

Both Wilson and McCarthy will look to continue to put plenty of points on the board next weekend, as the Wolverines head to East Lansing for a clash with rival Michigan State. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 pm ET kickoff on NBC, also streaming on Peacock.
