Video & Analysis: Shaun Nua Talks Continued And Necessary Development For Chris Hinton

Defensive tackle Chris Hinton hasn't played much this year but defensive line coach Shaun Nua has liked the big freshman's progress. Nua cited Hinton's consistency in practice as a reason he's been able to play a snap here and there but would like to see him make more plays and not get blow off the ball. He spoke about that and more earlier this week.
Brown's Breakdown
As a former five-star prospect and one of the most coveted defensive tackles in the country, I'm surprised that Hinton hasn't been able to find the field more often. Michigan is a little thin in the middle of the defensive line and it seems like a 303-pound, athletic and talented freshman could help there a bit.
He's played just 12 defensive snaps in 2019 he's only made a tackle or two on the year. Nua says he's getting close and maybe we will see more Hinton down the line, but I'm really pretty surprised he hasn't made an impact and can't help at all when you need bodies at that position.
