Michigan Football Makes Top Group For Elite 2026 O-Lineman
Michigan has done a good job getting into the heart of Florida and bringing kids to Ann Arbor from powerhouse IMG Academy. In the 2025 cycle, the Wolverines currently have two players committed from IMG Academy: RB Donovan Johnson and IOL Kaden Strayhorn. Michigan is also working on other IMG players such as top linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng.
IMG Academy is always full of great players who end up making good collegiate players. It's no surprise that Michigan is working on its 2026 class by searching for other prospects from Bradenton (FL). The Wolverines were recently named in the top group for 2026 offensive lineman G'Nivre Carr.
Other schools Michigan will compete with are Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and USF.
Carr is a 6-foot-4, 336-pound offensive lineman and he is entering his junior season of high school. Looking at the Composite rankings, Carr is listed as the 280th-ranked prospect and the 22nd-ranked IOL in the 2026 cycle. Carr is viewed as a three-star by 247Sports, On3, and Rivals. ESPN has him as a four-star. The Wolverines offered Carr back in late May.
Michigan has been an elite school to attract top offensive linemen. The Wolverines won the Joe Moore Award in 2021 and 2022 for having the nation's best offensive line. With Sherrone Moore as the head coach, the Wolverines' identity will remain a smash-mouth-styled offense that should continue to bring in top-tier O-Linemen for years to come.
