REPORT: Michigan Football 2024 Edge Target Will Announce Commitment Thursday
Michigan has a couple of Edge recruits it's still targeting in the 2024 class: Jacob Smith and Brian Robinson. However, Robinson is beginning to look more and more not likely to happen, but the Wolverines are continuing to trend for Smith.
There is a chance Michigan will cash in with Smith on Thursday.
According to Maize & Blue Review's Josh Henschke, with Rivals, Smith is going to announce his college commitment on Thursday.
The Wolverines already have his twin brother, Jerod Smith, committed to them in the 2024 class. And it's been discussed heavily the two would like to play together if possible.
Michigan is heavily trending to land the 6-foot-4, 230-pound defensive tackle out of Cheshire (CT) Cheshire Academy. Smith is a four-star recruit, the 211th-ranked recruit in the country, and the No. 4 recruit in the state of Connecticut according to the Composite.
There are currently two Crystal Ball predictions for Smith to go to Michigan from 247Sports. The Wolverines also have a 94% chance to land him according to On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Back in April Smith named a top six schools that consisted of: Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Nebraska.
