Elite Cornerback Puts Michigan In Loaded Top Group

The success of Michigan's young cornerbacks is appealing to high level prospects at the position.
In this story:

Michigan's roster is so loaded right now that virtually every position is well represented and thus garnering attention from high level prospects on the recruiting trail. Rising sophomore Will Johnson has shown that young corners can play and start early at U-M and doing things at a high level and on the biggest stage. That appears to have gotten the attention of Springfield (Ohio) High four-star cornerback Aaron Scott.

The 6-0, 170-pounder recently dropped a pretty large top group containing 12 big time programs and the Wolverines made the cut.

Obviously a big time player like Scott has a lot of options and, even with a top group now determined, he still has plenty to figure out. Michigan is in the mix along with 11 other schools — Oregon, USC, Ohio State, Florida State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma and Tennessee.

Obviously, as evidenced by the photos below, Scott has been on Michigan's campus before and looks pretty darn good in the No. 1 jersey. However, as the No. 1 player in the state of Ohio, most people assume that he's going to end up at Ohio State. That's probably where the smart money is, but U-M did beat out the Buckeyes for top running back target Jordan Marshall. The Wolverines definitely have a lot of momentum — both on the field and on the recruiting trail — right now after pounding OSU two years in a row. If the Wolverines can beat out the Bucks for a player like Scott as well, it would really signal a major changing of the guard and a potential bleak outlook for OSU head coach Ryan Day.
