One Day After Commitment Video Leaks, Top Michigan Target Picks Ohio State

In today's day and age, it's very hard to keep news quiet.

Yesterday, during his official visit to Ohio State, Cleveland Glenville cornerback Bryce West was speaking with a microphone during what looked like a meal or gathering of some sort and committed to the Buckeyes. Unfortunately, his sister was streaming the speech on Instagram live and accidentally put the news out for public consumption when it was supposed to be a private moment.

Several Ohio State outlets ran with the blunder essentially ruining the young man's commitment. At the end of the day, it's actually his sister's fault and it doesn't really matter since he publicly committed to the Buckeyes just a short while ago.

Michigan had done a phenomenal job with West, but this can't be viewed as a shocker. Glenville kids go to Ohio State. It's always been that way and probably always will be unless the wheels absolutely fall off in Columbus and Ryan Day loses more games like he does to Michigan (zing).

At the end of the day, this is a very talented cover corner, who grew up loving Ohio State, picking his dream school despite the efforts of the hated rival. Michigan has already plucked running back Jordan Marshall away from the Buckeyes and still has a shot with another highly ranked cornerback in the class, Aaron Scott Jr. As I've said during every update with both West and Scott, the smart money is probably still on OSU, but these weren't even battles in the past. Michigan had no shot at landing Ohio kids that Ohio State really wanted. Now, it's different. Back-to-back 20-point beatdowns have a way of changing things.

It's obviously not over when it comes to West's status as he can't put pen to paper until December. By then, Michigan may have another win over Ohio State as this year's edition of The Game will be played inside The Big House and the Wolverines are poised to pound OSU yet again.

Until then, chalk this up as business as usual. A kid from Cleveland, who goes to Glenville picked Ohio State. It's happened before and it'll happen again.
