Nation's Top Safety Getting Very Familiar With Michigan

Michigan is crushing it in the 2024 recruiting cycle and it appears to be spilling over into 2025 as well.
In this story:

Jim Harbaugh and his staff have done such a good job on the field and on the recruiting trail with the 2024 class that elite prospects from the 2025 class are taking a hard look at the Wolverines. One of the most noteworthy rising junior prospects to check out Ann Arbor multiple times already is Tampa (Fla.) Zephyrhills safety DJ Pickett.

The 6-2, 170-pounder was just in Ann Arbor for the third time in the past year, which obviously indicates that he's taking a serious look at Harbaugh and his program. The rangy safety has family in the area, including his grandmother, who lives only about 45 minutes from The Big House. It's also worth noting that Pickett is close with current Michigan commit and classmate Chris Ewald.

It's obviously extremely early for a blue-chip prospect in the 2025 class like Pickett, but during these premature stages of his recruitment, it's believed that Michigan and Georgia are his two favorite schools. With more than 40 offers to choose from and no semblance of a top group right now, Pickett will certainly be taking his time before making a decision. If he continues to follow Michigan closely and take additional visits, expect the Wolverines to be in the mix until the end.
