Little Caesars Arena

Detroit, MI

The #4/5 Michigan State Spartans return to action on Sunday taking on Syracuse at 2:40 PM right here at Little Caesars Arena. That game can be seen on CBS. But before the Big Game tomorrow where the winner gets a Sweet Sixteen date with Duke in Omaha next Friday, the Spartans must take out Syracuse Orange.

The Orange are led by Hall of Fame and highly questioned head coach Jim Boeheim. Spartan Nation spent time in the locker room today with many of your favorite Spartans to talk about the matchup and the big game here in Detroit.

The Orange have a 22-13 record. Their NCAA credentials were questioned by many of Boeheim’s traditionally soft out of conference scheduling and only an 8-10 ACC record. But it doesn’t matter anymore.

Michigan State has played Syracuse once in the NCAA Tournament, posting a 75-58 win over the Orange in the 2000 Midwest Regional Semifinals on the way to the 2000 National Championship.

The Spartans would have played the Orange in 2016, but they lost to Middle Tennessee State. Orange head coach Boeheim credited that Spartan loss as the reason the Orange made the Final Four that year.
